How to live in the present? What are you talking about? Well, even though it appears to be so, most of you are not living in the present simply because of the fact that you give more focus either on your past or the future. This is actually what makes you sad, upset or worried. Living in the now is so difficult for most of you because you are always encouraged to think about the future or dwell on your past through the subliminal programing, you are getting exposed to, on a daily basis. You happen to see advertisements, reminders, notifications, messages, speeches alerts etc, which make you focus more on your future or past. Know that your past is done forever. The only thing you can do with your past is try not to repeat the mistakes you had, and take lessons from the mistakes. The future has yet to come and is entirely dependent upon the energy you maintain right now. What does that mean? Well, if you change your energy, you can change your future too. 

Why living in the present is so important: It's very important because living in the moment actually is your mindfulness which is a state of active, open, intentional attention on the present. When you become mindful you realize that you are not your thoughts and you start to become an observer of your thoughts from moment to moment without judging them. Living in the moment, doesn't mean that you don't have any plans for your future. But it's nothing but the rearrangement of your vision on life. Your behavior should never be the product of circumstance, you have but it should come out of your conscious choice. When you give more focus on the circumstances around, you stay forgetful of yourself as the focus on the circumstances makes you always upset. You have to focus on yourself instead. The past, which is done can be used to learn from the mistakes you had. Future can be changed if you change your energy level. So, what you have to do is focus on the present. Research shows that people who live in the now are happier, more optimistic, less depressed, and more satisfied with life overall. When you start living in the moment, you start to improve your self-control. As a result, you can do whatever you are supposed to do, be it your job or exercise faster than normal as your mind is more focused. This is how you can be smarter. You will start doing something new, enjoying your life. You will be ready to accept big projects as you are free from the shackles of your mind. You will be a performer always, be it your job, lovemaking or task undertaken. 

How to live in the present: Your mind, is the distorted projection of the brain and it always plays tricks on you. Practice a regular meditation for 5 minutes everyday, reaffirming that you plan to live in the present. Have the inner visualization that you live in the present. It's going to make you have the memory about necessary actions, you have to take in this regard, later. Regular meditation makes you have a shift in terms of your mindset and makes you ready to enjoy living in the present...
