How to do it: The method is actually done mainly through the following steps. 

A) Acknowledge what's happening: This is the first important step where you identify the actual problems you face. You acknowledge the fact that you are sad, depressed or grieving or worried about something or someone. It's the stage where you recognize the fact that you are the victim of pain. It appears that you face most of your problems simply because of the fact that your thoughts tend to oscillate between the present and the future. You either stay worried about your past circumstances or future outcomes. But actually speaking, it doesn't have anything to do with your reality. You have to be focused on yourself who are in the present instead. If you get more focused on the present, you tend to find out all the solutions for your problems from the present itself. In other words, you are your thought and the moment when you change the existing thought you feel different. 

B) Feel your emotions: Life is actually the illusions within illusions you make and call them your reality. Humans are heavily emotional by design. As a result, you face the emotional roller coaster. Never get your feelings pent up inside because it's going to lead to more problems. If you feel like crying,  it's recommended to do that. It's nothing but the understanding you have about yourself or the actual analysis of the situation you are in. 

C) Let go of your feelings: It's the most important step where you are given the practical experience of how to let go of things unwanted. It's commonly exemplified through the concept of you holding an object or something firmly and moving yourself ahead. And it appears that the object you hold moves with you because it's attached to you. It's not the object that is attached to you, but you make yourself attached to it. And moment you loose your grip on the object, it falls down or moves away, suggesting that it's the same case with your emotions, feelings, problems or negative thoughts. Your feelings actually don't carry the power of any sort of attachment because they come to you through the circumstances. But when you focus on the circumstances in life rather than on yourself, you literally get engulfed by all of your feelings and go sad, worried, gloomy or depressed. So what you have to do is identify the basic problem that is bothering you and let go of it. You can't get rid of the problem because your thought process is still placed on the circumstance in the past, which contributed to the problem. So what you have to do is shift your thought process into the present. 

D) Answer yourself: It's the crucial step where you ask as many as three questions and find out answers from within. Ask yourself the following questions. Can you accept your problem? Can you allow yourself to let go of the problem? And when can you let go of it? These questions can be addressed with 'yes' or 'no' type answers. Understand the fact that both 'yes' or 'no' answers are acceptable here. And you are not supposed to get engaged in any sort of internal debate with these questions. Accept the answer that pops up first in your mind. No matter if it's an 'yes' or 'no'. Even though your answer is 'no', you don't have to get worried. Answering 'no' to your questions will never be a hurdle in terms of your intention to let go eventually. Regardless of your answers move ahead to the final question and get your answer confirmed as to when you can let go of your unwanted problem. The thing is that you have to fix the time when you can release the unwanted emotional upsurge. This is how you decide when you can let yourself be free from the burden. This works because you literally create your reality here and you change it anytime you want. You are the one who gives meaning to your emotions be it your sadness, grief, or feeling of loss. Understand the fact that nothing is permanent in this illusory world. Everything comes and goes, be it season or life, just to come back again. Understand the game of life you play against the backdrop of eternity and move ahead more forcefully.
