Everything can be achievable by practice and what you need is the strong mindset. A simulated life cycle makes you prioritize your needs always. Some people seem to be more self obsessed than others. And people tend to live self centered lives. 

What your Selfishness is: It's nothing but the lack of consideration for others. Selfish people are more concerned for themselves always. As a result, their life pattern is focused more on their own advantages. This is how you get your altruistic tendencies disappeared day by day. Simulated life goes through cycles. So if you believe something strongly, what happens is that your belief system gets labelled into your brain and you will have the tendency to repeat the same cycle which is reflective of your belief system. The same cyclical events repeat in your life until you make a drastic change thereby, starting a new cycle. 

What makes you selfish: With a body on, the level of your quantum consciousness gets thoroughly filtered by your brain. In other words, your neurochemistry colors your consciousness. As a result, you get your consciousness more individuated. And you tend to forget to see the unity around.

Start your day with a 5- minute meditation where you reaffirm with the same level of inner visualization that you have changed your perspective and have decided to be more altruistic. Understand the fact that you are not more important than anyone else. When you practice being humble and modest, you can see how differently you are getting treated by the World. Control your tendency to talk more about yourself as it's the stepping stone to be more selfish. Practice giving small gifts to your friends or relatives. Try to complement others for the best things they do in general and avoid the the company of those people who are more selfish and negative.
